System Adapter
END=YES The END parameter is required and must be specified as YES. It is used as a
check for proper macro syntax.
ENQTRY1=10|nn The number of times an external enqueue is to be attempted on the catalog
and audit data set in a multi-CPU environment before the CADC001I message
is issued. If CADC001I appears too frequently in a highly active multi-CPU
shared catalog environment, this value should be increased.
ENQTRY5=255|nnn The number of times an external enqueue is to be attempted on the catalog
and audit data set in a multi-CPU environment before the CADC005D message
is issued and the enqueue is considered to have failed. If CADC005D appears
too frequently in a highly active multi-CPU shared catalog environment, this
value should be increased.
ENQWAIT=5|nn The number of seconds to wait between enqueue tries for the catalog and
audit data set in a multi-CPU environment. The VM user ID waiting for the
enqueue it requested is stopped to allow other processing to continue. In a
multi-CPU environment with CPUs of badly mismatched speeds (for example,
4341 versus a 3090), this value can be adjusted to allow the slower CPU to
access the system files at more frequent intervals. This decreases the wait
time in the DYNAM macro cataloged for the slower CPU.
RECOVER=YES|NO Controls whether Catalog Management should record recovery information for
the CA Dynam/T Catalog in the audit data set.
Note: Assembly of the DYNAM macro results in the creation of the CASAGENA
TEXT file. This file is placed in the CAUSRLIB TXTLIB.
System Adapter
The System Adapter provides the system-dependent routines necessary for
the operation of Catalog Management, DYNVM user functions and
administrator utility programs. It also provides the following services:
CPU identification
Lock file I/O
CA Dynam/T message queue file I/O
FILEDEF and LABELDEF manipulation routines
Physical device identification and information
Product message and unit record I/O
Data manipulation and conversion
Product-to-Catalog Management interface
